The land for Kiwanis Park was purchased in 1972 with a 50% grant from the Bureau of Recreation. This site was selected as a result of an open space study completed by the City in 1969. The park was named after the Kiwanis Club who donated the funds for the development of this regional park.

Park size is 125 acres.
