In response to residents’ concerns about vehicle speed, safety, traffic volume, and noise, the City has prepared streetscape improvements for Miller Road between McKellips and Curry roads. This segment of Miller Road is currently being paved and as part of this effort, enhanced pedestrian safety and traffic calming features are being implemented. 

Design Features

• Six pairs of curb extensions with integrated rainwater harvesting and landscaping
• Six speed cushions
• Enhanced bike lane signage, including green reflective pavement markers

An east-west crosswalk is under review. Tempe is working closely with the City of Scottsdale to coordinate the necessary permits and approvals to include the crosswalk.
