After extensive outreach, the project was expected to start construction in 2019. However, the project was delayed after the discovery of a significant prehistoric archaeological find. Tempe engaged with the Four Southern Tribes of Arizona to create a redesigned streetscape plan that respects, preserves and celebrates the archaeological discovery, as well as incorporate it into the plan. Learn more about the discovery by watching a video.
