City of Tempe, AZ
Home MenuIndian Bend Wash - McKellips to Curry Multi-Use Path
The City of Tempe, in partnership with Maricopa County Flood Control, is upgrading the existing Indian Bend Wash Multi-use Path between McKellips and Curry roads. The current path connects the Rio Salado Multi-use Path and Tempe Town Lake to the City of Scottsdale. Designs, which were based on public feedback, include improved access to the area, new lighting, and more trees and plants.
The vision for the Wash is to simultaneously act as a landmark for open green space and a multimodal artery connecting Scottsdale and Tempe. This project will take into account the opportunity to take advantage of the urban open space, and respect the function of the wash as a flood mitigation measure regulated by County Flood Control District.
