The locations on this map represent organizations dedicated to serving as Tempe Resilience Hubs. Each hub operates uniquely, offering essential programs and services year-round and stepping up during disruptions to support the community.  

Many hubs provide daily programs and services, which you can explore on their websites. As the network grows, so will the variety of programs offered. 

Neighborhood Asset Mapping Program  

In March 2026, neighbors will lead the effort by conducting door-to-door interviews with community members to gather local assets, stories, and resources. Once all surveys are collected, neighbors, along with guidance from Dayspring and the Sustainability Division, will create collaboratively create a community asset map. This map, designed for neighborhood use, will help inform emergency preparedness strategies and guide long-term neighborhood planning. 

The primary goals of the program is to empower the community surrounding Dayspring Resilience Hub to respond to everyday challenges and disruptions through strong local connections, shared leadership, and a deep understanding of neighborhood strengths.

Volunteer training is mandatory, and the volunteer can choose either date to attend: February 24th, 2026 (5:30pm-7:30pm) or Feb 28th, 2026 (10am-12pm).

Our Approach
Since 2022, the Sustainability and Resilience Division has been working on establishing a Tempe Resilience Hub Network. Below outlines the approach the Division has been taking based on best practices.  

Everyday Programs and Services  
In 2023, active Resilience Hubs had the opportunity to apply for Resilience Hub Project Grants to enhance existing programs or launch new initiatives. Selected projects included CPR/AED and First Aid training, creating a community green space with a pollinator garden and native trees, developing a new community garden, establishing a Performing Arts Academy for children, and supporting their food banks.

Resilient Energy 

The City of Tempe conducted a microgrid feasibility study with RSP, Quest Energy, and Solar Island Energy to evaluate energy efficiency, solar, and battery storage options for essential buildings like community centers, police and fire stations, and community-owned Resilience Hubs. This study helps inform next steps for microgrid implementation aimed to create Resilient Energy Hubs that provide reliable power during disruptions, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and support community resilience by ensuring essential services remain operational.

Disruption Response Planning  

Resilience Hubs are designed to harness a community’s existing knowledge, skills, and connections to strengthen preparedness and response to disruptions. In partnership with Tempe Fire Medical Rescue, the Sustainability and Resilience Division will collaborate with each hub and the community to develop tailored disruption response efforts that effectively utilize local assets.
