The Sustainability Division is proud to announce that the Microgrids Master Plan: Resilient Energy Hubs report has received Crescordia Award in the Heat Mitigation Strategy category in the Arizona Forward Environmental Excellence Awards Program. This recognition highlights our commitment to advancing resilient, sustainable energy solutions for our the Tempe community.

The Energy Team works to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, advance energy efficiency, and transition our community toward clean, renewable energy. The City of Tempe has set ambitious goals, aiming for 100% renewable energy for municipal operations by 2035 and achieving carbon neutrality in both community and municipal operations by 2050.

Oversees a range of initiatives including the Mobile Home Retrofit Program, CDP climate disclosure reporting, and the tracking and management of utility rebates, hydropower credits, and EV charging revenue.
