The Energy Team works to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, advance energy efficiency, and transition our community toward clean, renewable energy. The City of Tempe has set ambitious goals, aiming for 100% renewable energy for municipal operations by 2035 and achieving carbon neutrality in both community and municipal operations by 2050.

Projects: Responsible for outreach and engagement programming focused on energy, particularly in frontline communities, to expand access to energy efficiency and environmental benefits. Oversees a range of initiatives including the Mobile Home Retrofit Program, CDP climate disclosure reporting, and the tracking and management of utility rebates, hydropower credits, and EV charging revenue.

Jorge Guerrero Morales | ORISE - Department of Energy Community Energy Fellow | Email Jorge
Projects: Jorge is currently a Fellow participating in a weatherization program for mobile homes. This initiative is all about improving energy efficiency, helping residents save on their utility bills, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and ultimately making mobile homes more resilient to extreme heat.
