Improving the way Tempe government works by driving innovation

In 2022, as part of the Bloomberg-Harvard City Leadership Initiative, Tempe was selected to be one of the 12 cities to participate in the year-long Harvard Bloomberg Innovation Track. The Tempe team was comprised of staff members who are passionate optimists enthusiastic about resident-centric innovation, critical challengers who demonstrate an ongoing commitment to challenge the status quo, persistent achievers who overcome obstacles, and diverse visionaries. This interdisciplinary City team built innovation capabilities by designing, testing, and prototyping solutions to Tempe’s applied project on homelessness.

About the Innovation Track of the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative:

Centre for Public Impact partnered with Bloomberg Philanthropies and Harvard University to design and manage the innovation track of the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative, where interdisciplinary city teams build innovation capabilities as they design, test, and prototype solutions to a pressing city problem.
