Water Resources Section

The mission of the Water Resources Section is to efficiently manage Tempe’s water supplies and effectively plan for the community’s future water needs. The Section administers Tempe's water rights and contracts, water accounting, and assured water supply planning.

Tempe's water security remains intact and minimally impacted by the continued shortage on the Colorado River. In a typical year, the Salt River Project provides approximately 90% of Tempe's water supply.
