Single Family Residential Properties

A low-water-use desert landscape conversion can reduce the water use of your landscape by 50% or more. Desert-adapted plants have acclimated to soil and weather conditions in the desert, and they use less water and are easier to maintain.

This rebate provides $0.50 per square foot of grass converted to a low-water-use desert landscape, up to $2,000 per home, per fiscal year. Only future grass removal conversions will be considered for the rebate. Please read the terms and conditions in the next section below.

How to Calculate Plant Coverage

The Grass Removal & Conversion Rebate provides a rebate for residential properties that meet 30% plant coverage of the grass removal area. Below are a few examples on how to calculate plant coverage for specific square footages of grass being removed. These calculations will vary by project.
