The City of Tempe provides a rebate of up to $5,000 per property for approved upgrades to indoor efficiency at Multi-Family Residential or commercial properties.

Each project must adhere to the rebate terms and conditions and project pre-approval is required before proceeding. Read the terms and conditions for this rebate for commercial properties:

Rebate applicants:
The Indoor Fixtures and Appliances incentive is designed to support Non-Single Family facilities such as apartment complexes, neighborhood common areas, offices, hotels, manufacturers, medical offices, restaurants, retail shops and schools. Single Family Residential properties and individual condo applicants should apply for the High-Efficiency Toilet Rebate.
Neighborhood associations, Homeowners Associations and qualified apartment complexes may also apply for Neighborhood Grants instead of receiving a rebate.
Rebate application checklist:
- Review the list of Indoor Water Efficient Fixtures and Appliances.
- Prior to starting your project, please review the rebate terms and conditions to ensure understanding of the requirements. Contact water conservation with questions or to discuss project ideas by calling 480-350-8351 or emailing conservation@tempe.gov.
- Complete an online rebate application form to request pre-approval to start a project.
- Conservation staff will review the application and, if complete, will send via email a pre-approval to begin your project.
- Once the project is complete, please follow the instructions in the pre-approval to complete your project application.
The EPA WaterSense certifies toilets, faucets, showerheads, irrigation controllers, urinals and pre-rinse spray valves. The EPA ENERGY STAR® program also rates water use efficiency for appliances.
