The Public Works Department provides clean water and garbage collection to Tempe customers. The department consists of three divisions: water utilities, field operations and engineering.  

The Water Utilities division provides water, wastewater and stormwater services to the community. The Field Operations division provides trash and recycling services and manages the city’s fleet of vehicles. The Engineering Division manages construction citywide.
