The Tempe Police Department’s Media/Public Relations Unit serves as the primary point of contact for news media regarding official police information.

Media Inquiries

  • For media inquiries or to reach the on-call Police Public Information Officer (PIO), please email PDPIO@tempe.gov.

  • Standard coverage hours are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

  • During overnight hours, weekends, and City holidays, the PIO email inbox is actively monitored for emergencies and urgent inquiries requiring immediate response.

  • Non-urgent requests submitted outside of regular coverage hours will be addressed the following business day.

Public Records Requests

The Tempe Police Department is committed to transparency and follows Arizona public records laws. All requests are handled by the Records Section, which reviews, processes, and releases records in accordance with state law and department policy.
