The City of Tempe is proud to be recognized as a Gold-Level Bicycle Friendly Community, featuring more than 220 miles of bikeways. To help protect these valuable community assets, the Tempe Police Department encourages all bicycle and scooter owners to register their property. Registration significantly increases the likelihood of recovering and returning stolen items to their rightful owners.

The Tempe Police Department partners with Project 529 Garage for bicycle and scooter registration. Owners may register online by clicking the "Register Bike or Scooter" button below or by downloading the Project 529 Garage App and selecting the Tempe Police Department from the dropdown menu.

Tips for Securing Your Bike or Scooter

Always lock up bikes and scooters if being stored outside or in a garage. Store inside your residence if possible.
Keep a copy of the serial numbers.
Take a photo to help with identification later.
Use a good lock. The best choice lock is a highly rated U-Lock. We do not recommend only using a cable lock.
You can use a hidden tracking device such as an air tag.
Always secure the frame using a highly rated lock to an immovable object such as a bike rack.
