The Investigations Division is dedicated to providing comprehensive investigative support, crime analysis, technical support, and records and evidence management for the department. The division is comprised of specialized bureaus and units, each with distinct responsibilities to ensure thorough and effective investigations.

CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS BUREAU

The Criminal Investigations Bureau is divided into two major investigative sections:

• Violent Crimes Section – Includes the Homicide Unit, Document & Arson Crimes Unit, Criminal Apprehension Surveillance Team (CAST), and Violent Crimes Squads.
  
  
• Major Crimes Section – Includes the Special Victims Unit (SVU), Family Crimes Unit, Critical Investigations Unit, Property Crimes Unit, and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Drones Team.

TECHNICAL SERVICES BUREAU

The Technical Services Bureau provides essential data analysis, forensic services, and technical support to aid in crime prevention and case resolution. It includes:

• Crime Analysis & Intel Center – Supports investigations through crime pattern analysis, intelligence gathering, and trend forecasting.
  
  
•  Forensic Services Unit – Offers specialized evidence collection, examination, and scientific analysis.
  
  
• Property & Evidence – Responsible for securely storing, tracking, and managing all property and evidence in accordance with strict chain-of-custody standards.
  
  
• Records Section – Responsible for managing and safeguarding police records and processing public records requests. 
  
  
•  Technical Services Unit – Delivers technical expertise and systems support to police operations.
