Tips for a successful irrigation
* Inspect the property as it fills.
* Remove pets from the area.
* Trim grass to less than six inches. Clear leaves or debris from pipe under pavement.
* Remove items from the yard that could be damaged or pose a safety concern.
Valve tampering is a serious issue

Flooded streets, homes, alleys and washed out berms are often the result of customers operating their own valves. Please allow our staff to perform this service. If there is a problem with the valve or service, or if you believe someone is tampering with a valve, call Customer Service at 480-350-8361.

Proposed rate & program changes

The City of Tempe is currently evaluating the Flood Irrigation Program to ensure it is providing the reliable flood irrigation service to which customers are accustomed with a renewed focus on infrastructure repair and asset management.

Over the past few years, several flood irrigation customers participated in a series of workshops to discuss priorities for the program and provide valuable input regarding its neighborhood and community benefits. This dialogue has been useful in ongoing discussions to develop a just and reasonable rate structure and to ensure the program continues to meet the needs of the customers and the community. The most recent City Council discussion can be found here.
