Disposal of surplus or excess materials and supplies
Surplus or excess materials may be offered for sale or lease through competitive sealed bidding, spot bidding, trade-in, sale at posted prices, auction, negotiated sale, trade to another public entity, retail sales outlet, or transferred for public purpose as designated by city rules, regulations and processes.
The City of Tempe currently uses Sierra Auction for vehicles and equipment. Sierra Auction and Public Surplus handle the sale of most other surplus property, however, the City of Tempe may utilize other available methods to derive the highest value for its goods. A visit to Sierra's or Public Surplus' website will allow you to preview the items available for sale from the City of Tempe as well as other municipalities.
