DESCRIPTION / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This position deploys, maintains, and administers server hardware, operating systems, and application software. Monitors system performance and capacity and tracks performance trends. Troubleshoots moderate issues, and works with external vendors, as necessary, on resolutions.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following
- Manages and maintains enterprise VMware virtualization servers located on-premises; VMware on AWS S3 storage, infrastructure, architecture and related products including vCenter, vSAN, NSX, and Kubernetes. Manages, maintains, and monitors physical servers to support the city’s Enterprise environment.
- Manages and maintains the Public Virtual environment using HiveIO Fabric clustering, Igel Universal Management Suite, and thin client firmware.
- Performs server backups and restoration to support business continuity and disaster recovery.
- Respond and resolve server hardware related issues.
- Oversees server patch management and vulnerability remediation.
- Provides Microsoft 365 Enterprise support for Teams, Exchange, SharePoint, One Drive and other Microsoft 365 applications.
- Manages the Active Directory environment and associated services including Distributed File System (DFS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol Server (DHCP servers), Domain Name Servers (DNS), file sharing, network printing servers and Papercut, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol Servers (LDAP), and Okta. Oversees group policy management and enterprise file storage using NFS, and SMB.
- Collaborates with other infrastructure and operations teams including network engineering. Provides ITIL level 3 support for IT Service Desk incident managers and service practitioners. Supports and interacts with IT Security, Application Development, and Project Management and Solutions Architect teams.
- This is a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) regulated position and requires the ability to meet and maintain compliance with the Security Policy.
- May perform responsibilities of a similar nature and level as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
Three (3) years of experience in maintaining software solutions, or related experience.
Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). The sum of an applicant’s full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.
Education:

In addition to the base salary, this position is eligible to receive an additional component of pay that ensures a 7.5% separation from your highest paid subordinate. This component of pay is separate from the base salary and will adjust to maintain the 7.5% separation, provided the sum of the base pay and the component of pay do not exceed the maximum of the job classification’s pay grade. Note: the component of pay will increase if the highest paid subordinate receives a pay increase or decrease if that subordinate leaves the position.

DESCRIPTION

DESCRIPTION
This position administers security servers, firewalls, intrusion detection appliances and other systems. Performs compliance activities to ensure the successful implementation of the city’s security program. Facilitates the conducting of technology audits; reviews all audit reports and responses to ensure timeliness and effectiveness of corrective actions. Assists in the development and management of the city’s information security program, including policies, standards, guidelines, baselines, and procedures.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following

Oversees: email security operations including phishing/SPAM remediation, DMARC, endpoint detection and response, investigations and forensics, and SIEM and log management. Responds to incidents and investigates security breaches.

Oversees and supports identity access management. Provides Identity and Access Management system support, third party vendor account management, third-party connection agreement support, and social media access assignments.

DESCRIPTION
This position provides technical support by assessing, troubleshooting, and following established guidelines to solve IT hardware, software and networking issues. Responds to requests for assistance via calls as well as remote or onsite assistance.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following

Provides initial IT assistance to all city departments, both remotely and in-person. Answers end-user phone calls, processes incidents and service requests placed to Support Services.

Installs software and hardware and troubleshoots IT issues on-site or using remote network technology tools.

Assists city departments with relocation, installation, and new equipment set up.

Configures end-user computing devices, network printers, mobile devices, VPN connectivity, workstation IP addresses, system settings, and imaging operating system software for the city's workstation computers and mobile devices.

Refreshes out of warranty equipment on a rolling replacement cycle for all city departments. Processes equipment for vendor pickup, and updates asset database records.

Assists the IT warehouse service center with imaging, warranty repairs, and general warehouse duties.

Maintains IT documentation and knowledge base articles for common support resolutions.

Obtains price quotes and provides software and computer equipment for city clients. Assists with maintaining accurate inventory records for hardware and software licensing. Coordinates receiving, delivery, and warehousing of computer equipment.

Maintains stock levels of commonly used IT equipment based upon the department’s inventory standards.
