📍 Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) Location Codes

For every Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) license, the Arizona Department of Revenue assigns a unique 3-digit location code to identify where business transactions occur.
This code must be used when filing TPT returns for each business location.

🏷️ What Is a Location Code?

The location code appears on your TPT License Certificate.
You’ll find it here:

  • ✔️ Left side of the certificate

  • ✔️ Located below the business address

  • ✔️ Shown as a 3-digit number

This code ensures that tax revenue from your business is properly routed to the correct city, town, or special district.

💻 Filing Your TPT Return

The preferred method for filing and paying TPT is:

🌐 AZTaxes.gov

You can use AZTaxes.gov to:

  • Apply for a new TPT license

  • File your monthly or quarterly TPT

  • Pay TPT

  • Renew your license annually

  • View all location code information tied to your business account

📌 Important Region Codes

  • City Region Code: TE (City of Tempe)

  • State/County Region Code: MAR (Maricopa County)
