Reservations - Fields, Courts, Ramadas & Large Group
Our philosophy:
The City of Tempe Parks and Recreation team aims to ensure all park visitors have a fun, safe and enjoyable experience. While many of our park amenities are available on a first-come, first-served basis, others such as athletic fields, courts and ramadas are not. Please read below to learn how to reserve these places.
Specific documentation must accompany all reservation requests. Click on the reservation topic below for additional information. All documents can be found in the forms folder below.
Reservation Types:
Ballfields, Soccer Fields & Multi-Purpose Fields
How to reserve:
Please allow five (5) business days to process applications due to high demand and time needed to review paperwork.- Online: Click here. An ACTIVE Net account is required for online reservations. Not all locations are available to reserve online. See locations section below for more information.
- Via email: Send a completed Field Reservation Request Form to fieldreservations@tempe.gov (find the application under the Forms tab).
- A note about re-occurring reservations: Do you intend to request a re-occurring reservation for your organization or league? If so, please use the "via email" option.
Fees:
- Weekday, before 6 p.m.: $10/hr
- Weekday, after 6 p.m.: $15/hr
- Weekend: $20/hr
- Lights: $15/hr
- Light fees will be added after 6 p.m. in September - April and after 7 p.m. in May - August.
Locations available for reservation:
- Ballfields: Clark (Matt Mantei), Connolly Middle School*, Daley, Jaycee, Kiwanis, McKemy Middle School*, Palmer**, Papago, Tempe Beach Park (Luis Gonzalez "Gonzo"), Tempe Sports Complex*
- *Location not available to reserve online. Use email process instead.
- **Location does not have lights.
- Multi-purpose fields: Benedict Sports Complex, Escalante, Tempe Sports Complex
- Soccer fields: Diablo, Kiwanis**, Tempe Sports Complex
- **Location does not have lights.
- Neighborhood Fields: Celaya, Corbell, Estrada, Goodwin, Hanger, Mary & Moses Green, Stroud, Waggoner
- Neighborhood fields cannot be reserved online. Use email process instead.
- Reservations are available Monday-Thursday for Tempe-based youth organizations meeting 70% residency threshold only. Rosters must be submitted along with request form via email.
- Non-reservable fields are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Large Group Ramada Reservations
What is considered a "Large Group Ramada Reservation?"
- Any reservation with 3+ ramadas
- Any reservation with 100+ people in attendance
- Any reservation in the designated large group areas at Kiwanis Park (see below)
How to reserve:
Reservation requests must be submitted a minimum of 30 days prior to the event. Ramadas may be reserved 11 months in advance by Tempe residents/Tempe-based companies, and 3 months in advance by non-residents/non-Tempe based companies for picnics.- Via email: Send a completed Large Group & Tournament Application to largegroupreservations@tempe.gov
- In-person: Bring a completed Large Group & Tournament Application to one of our recreation facilities.
- A note for first time applicants: If you would like to receive the Tempe resident rate, be sure to provide proof of Tempe Residency with picture identification AND one of the following: Utility Bill, Phone Bill, or Rental Agreement within the last 30 days that includes your name and Tempe address.

Ramadas for large groups (all located at Kiwanis Park):
Groupings of other ramadas at other parks may be considered depending on the nature of the request.- Ruben Romero Corporate Picnic Area (capacity is 750)
- Fiesta Ramadas (capacity is 250)
- Tempe Sister Cities Garden (capacity is 200)
Additional Information:
- Please note that electricity is not available for any park reservation. Plan accordingly if you need a power source.

Ramadas
How to reserve:
Ramadas may be reserved up to 11 months in advance by Tempe residents/Tempe-based companies, and up to 3 months in advance by non-residents/non-Tempe based companies for picnics.- Online: click here. An ACTIVE Net account is required for online reservations.
- In Person: visit one of our recreation facilities during business hours, including Clark Park Community Center, Escalante Community Center, Kiwanis Recreation Center, North Tempe Multi-Gen Center, Pyle Adult Recreation Center, or Westside Multi-Gen Center.

Fees:
- Tempe resident: $25/day
- Non-Tempe resident: $50/day
- Beer permit (guidelines can be found here):
- Tempe resident: $15/reservation
- Non-Tempe resident: $20/reservation
- Large group (100+ people): $25/reservation
Parks with reservable ramadas:
- North of 202 Loop: Evelyn Hallman, Papago
- North of US 60: Clark, Daley, Escalante, Esquer (east of 101), Hollis, Parque de Soza, Jaycee
- South of US 60: Kiwanis
- Non-reservable ramadas are available on a first come, first served basis.

Tournament Reservations
How to reserve:
Deadline to submit a request is 60 days prior to tournament date. Be prepared to fill out additional documentation per City of Tempe Park Reservations or Special Events staff.- Via email: Send a completed Large Group & Tournament Application to fieldreservations@tempe.gov
- Do you intend to have a third-party vendor provide a service on-site at your reservation (including inflatables, food trucks/vendors, game trucks and other services)? If yes, see the Vendor tab.
Fees:
- Field rental: $20/hr/field
- Facility staffing: $20/hr
- Lights: $15/hr
- Added after 6 p.m. in September - April and after 7 p.m. in May - August.
- Field prep: $30/field/occurrence- Baseball/softball only
- Includes drag, bases and lines
- Request for field prep must be submitted a minimum of two weeks prior to event
- Large group beer permit: $25 (find guidelines here)

Beer Permits
No beer is allowed without an issued permit. Beer permits are available for purchase for individuals 21+ years of age. Subject to approval. Wine, malt beverages or liquor are not allowed. Find further beer permit guidelines and restrictions in this document.
How to purchase:
- In-person: visit one of our recreation facilities during business hours, including Clark Park Community Center, Escalante Community Center, Kiwanis Recreation Center, North Tempe Multi-Gen Center, Pyle Adult Recreation Center, or Westside Multi-Gen Center.
- Email: this option is for field and court reservations only. Submit a copy of your photo ID to fieldreservations@tempe.gov.

Pre-Approved Vendor List and Certificate of Insurance Requirements
Workers' Compensation Waiver
Vendors
All third-party vendors (including inflatables, food trucks, game trucks, etc.) at your reservation must have valid Certificate of Insurance (COI) documentation on file with Tempe Parks & Recreation. Vendors who do not meet the minimum requirements will not be considered.
Submitting Certificate of Insurance (COI) documentation:
Requests must be submitted within 10 days of reservation for review and approval.- To-Be Approved Vendors: Email us a copy of the vendor's Certificate of Insurance (see below for minimum requirements).
- Pre-Approved Vendors: Click here for a list of pre-approved vendors who have already provided the required documentation.
- If you book with a vendor on the pre-approved list, email us a receipt or confirmation of scheduled service.
- A note about inflatables: Not all ramada locations can accommodate inflatables (like bounce houses). See this list for more information.
