The City of Tempe is actively investing in parks, and we’re excited to bring several improvements to Rotary Park. Over the last year, Parks staff have worked to develop design and construction plans. Construction costs are anticipated to be funded in the summer of 2027.

Proposed improvements include:

• New playground pieces with improved accessibility and features chosen by the community

• Renovated or replaced playground shade structures

• Artist-designed accessible rubber surface expanded throughout the playground area

• New picnic ramada and concrete pad (locations to be determined)

• New site furnishings

The Option B layout has been chosen to move forward.

The improvements are funded out of the city’s Capital Improvement Program budget, as part of the Parks Improvement Plan, which is reinvesting more than $60 million into Tempe parks over the next five years . Additional modifications or enhancements to other park amenities are not included in the budgeted amount.
