The City of Tempe is investing in its parks. The ramada in Harelson Park will be removed and replaced by two smaller ramadas. The park will also receive landscape improvements, new lighting on the basketball court and soccer field, new trees, and accessible walkways to the new ramada(s). A meeting was held March 2, 2019 in Harelson Park to view plans, select the size, location, type, and finish for the new ramada(s), and give input on possible additional amenities for the future as well as park hours. Comment on these proposals was open through March 16, 2019.
The improvements will be funded out of the city’s Capital Improvement Program budget, as part of the Parks Improvement Plan, which is reinvesting more than $60 million into Tempe parks over the next few years.
The comment period has now closed. Results of the outreach are posted under "Documents."
