Construction began in late March on improvements to Daumler Park. It is anticipated that the playground will be completed this summer.  The playground area will be completely fenced off during the project. Access to the basketball court will be temporarily closed while new sidewalks are poured and courts are resurfaced. Most picnic areas will remain accessible.

Daumler Park is scheduled for enhancements to the park, which will include a complete renovation of the playground, accessible walkways into the park, a new metal post ramada and new lighting in the playground area. The improvements are funded out of the city’s Capital Improvement Program budget, as part of the Parks Improvement Plan, which is reinvesting more than $60 million into Tempe parks over the next five years . Additional modifications or enhancements to other park amenities are not included in the budgeted amount.
