A picnic ramada is in the design phase for Dwight Park. Residents were asked ot help select the location and design of the ramada.
The improvements will be funded out of the city’s Capital Improvement Program budget, as part of the Parks Improvement Plan, which is reinvesting more than $60 million into Tempe parks over the next five years.
Background: The City of Tempe has a number of neighborhood park recreational value base amenities, based on the size of the park. These base amenities include picnic ramadas, trees, playground elements, and other site furnishings (trash/recycling containers, drinking fountains, etc.). In order to meet these requirements, Dwight Park is scheduled to receive one 20x20 ramada during fiscal year 2020/2021 as well as additional trees and site furnishings.
