Commemorative Donations
The City of Tempe accepts limited commemorative donations in accordance with Tempe City Code Sec. 2-240(8). This section of City Code authorizes the Parks Board to receive, accept, and acquire gifts of real and personal property for park purposes, subject to final action by the City Council and the terms of the gift.
Commemorative donations provide a process for individuals or organizations to propose a contribution in recognition or remembrance, while ensuring consistency with City policies, operational needs, and the equitable use of public park spaces.
All commemorative donations are voluntary and subject to review and approval. Submission of a request does not guarantee acceptance, placement, recognition, or implementation.
Commemorative donations may support eligible City park amenities, improvements, or programs. All proposals must comply with applicable City standards, policies, and maintenance requirements.
How to Initiate a Request
Individuals or organizations interested in proposing a commemorative donation must contact City staff. Early coordination helps ensure proposals align with City requirements and applicable review timelines.
