PlayDay is moving to March 24
Rescheduled due to heavy rain expected this weekend

Tempe’s annual PlayDay, scheduled for this Saturday, Feb. 23,  will not take place due to heavy rain that is expected over the next few days. It will take place on Sunday, March 24 from noon - 4 p.m.

Fiesta Playground at Kiwanis Park, Mill Ave. & All-America Way

In keeping with its designation as a Playful City USA community, Tempe will host a free day of play for kids of all ages to celebrate play and reap the benefits of being active. PlayDay is scheduled to occur from noon - 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 24 at Kiwanis Park, at Mill Ave. & All-America Way.

Participants of PlayDay will have the opportunity to join-in on a variety of structured and unstructured games and events, including: youth sports activities, kayaking, dance & movement activities, inflatables and more! 

Kid Zone Experience
The 2019 Kid Zone Experience provides the opportunity to try your hand at Life Size Marble Run, Hex Bugs, Angry Birds STEM Launch, Make-Your-Own Salsa, Preschool Sensory Zone and more – all activities representative of the Kid Zone Enrichment Program.

Library’s StoryWalk®
The Tempe Public Library Youth Librarians will once again host an interactive StoryWalk®. Participants will follow the Summer Supper storybook path while reading and engaging in activities from the book, including planting seeds and digging for worms. The story, written by Rubin Pfeffer, featuring pictures from Mike Austin, details the food cycle from planting and gardening to sharing the bounty with family and friends. StoryWalk® is a fun and educational way to incorporate literacy and exercise. 

Diablo Dash
Visitors will once again enjoy the Diablo Dash at PlayDay. Sponsored by the Tempe Diablos, the Diablo Dash is a family-friendly obstacle course that will have you running, crawling, climbing, sliding and laughing all the way to the finish line!

Just for Kids Fishing Festival
Anglers of all ages are invited to west side of Kiwanis Lake between 8 a.m. and noon to try their hand at fishing at the 28th annual Just for Kids Fishing Expo. Anglers United and Arizona Game and Fish will provide everything you need (poles, bait and a little guidance) at no cost during the event.
