Gov. Ducey issued an Executive Order on June 29 that provided new guidelines for city-operated pools, gyms and events. As a result, the following changes are in effect at North Tempe Multi-Generational Center:
- The fitness center and gymnasium are closed until further notice.
- All exercise classes are canceled.

The North Tempe Multi-Generational Center offers programs for all ages, from Instructional Classes to Special Events. All programs listed below are City of Tempe sponsored programs.

Toddler & Youth Classes
Indoor Youth Soccer Academy
Learn to love soccer. Introduce your child to the joys of the world’s most popular sport. Participants will practice using their feet, develop a feel for the ball and begin working collaboratively, all through developmentally appropriate play. Fee: $15. 480-350-5800
Martial Arts; Karate
Join this Kenpo Karate martial arts class for beginning and intermediate students. Classes begin with a light warm-up and stretch followed by basic kick-punch-block drills. Self-defense techniques are taught, as well as forms (katas) and light sparring (optional). Comfortable clothing is recommended. Instructor: Aseem. Fee: $70. 480-350-5200
Teen & Adult Classes
The North Tempe Multi-Generational Center offers coed drop-in basketball for ages 18 yrs+. All players must have a free facility membership and a valid fitness pass. Fee: $1 (3-month pass $10, annual pass $25). No spectators allowed. 480-858-6500.

Learn to move with grace and ease while using basic breathing exercises and simple yoga poses to help relax your head, neck, shoulders and back. This class will flow at a slower pace and students of all experiences and backgrounds are welcome to attend. Bring your own yoga mat. No Class 7/1 & 7/3. Instructor: Kim. Fee: $65. 480-350-5200.

Eat Smart, Live Strong
Taught by Chef Roy, this class includes exercise, instruction on healthy food choices as well as a cooking demonstration with samples. Program takes place 2-3 days per month. Fee: None. Call 480-858-6512 for more information.
North Tempe Chair Exercise Program
This class uses hand-held weights, strength bands and balls to engage each participant in low impact aerobic exercises as well as stretching relaxation exercises. This class is designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Registration is not required. Fee: None. 480-858-6512
North Tempe Geri-Fit Exercise Program
This chair exercise program is provided by Area Agency on Aging. Geri-Fit® is a tier III evidence-based health promotion program and chronic disease self-management support program. Designed for older adults, it helps rebuild strength that's been lost through the aging process and helps to ensure a higher level of function. Registration is not required. Fee: None. 480-858-6512

ALL IN PERSON SENIOR CENTER PROGRAMMING HAS BEEN SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
TCAA is offering a drive-through nutritious “meal on the go” for Tempe seniors and adults with disabilities on a daily basis (Monday through Friday). The catered meals can be picked up at the North Tempe Senior Center, 1551 N. Bridal Wreath, Tempe AZ 85281 (south entrance) between 10 and 11 AM only. Register for the meal by noon one day in advance by calling TCAA at 480-858-6511. Meals are offered at no cost to eligible participants. Donations are welcomed.
Tempe seniors and adults with disabilities who are home-bound may qualify for a home-delivered meal at no cost. Contact Area Agency on Aging to pre-register at 602-264-4357.
The North Tempe Senior Center is operated through a partnership between the City of Tempe and the Tempe Community Action Agency. Home Delivered Meals Program
The TCAA Home Delivered Meal (HDM) program serves meals to home-bound elderly and disabled individuals in Tempe and South Scottsdale. Participants can be referred to us by the SENIOR HELP LINE@602-264-4357. TCAA also offers a private pay option for home delivered meals. The meals are delivered Mon.-Fri. between 9:30am and 12:30pm. This program relies heavily on volunteer participation. If you would like more information on HDM services or volunteering for this program please call us at 480-858-6510.

The North Tempe Library Resource Center includes 18 computers and 4 iPads for public use. These computers are available to type your resume or surf the web using the latest software. You can research topics using the same programs offered at the Tempe Public Library. Patrons are required to have a valid Tempe Library card, as well as a North Tempe Facility membership to use the Resource Center.

Classes and Programs
North Tempe and the Tempe Public Library have joined together to offer Computer classes and programs for all ages at the North Tempe Multi-Generational Center. Check out our Instructional Classes page to get more information and sign up today!
- The Fitness Center is open to patrons 16 years and up.
- This area is equipped with two treadmills, three elliptical cross-trainers, a recumbent bike, an upright bike, five multi-exercise strength training machines, a dumbbell set, and three TV's with cable access.
- Each piece of cardio equipment is equipped with a wireless receiver that allows members to listen to TV programming or FM radio with out disturbing others. Patrons must bring their own headphones to use this feature.
- All participants are required to have North Tempe Facility Membership to use the Fitness Center.
- A photo ID is required to obtain membership.
- Towels are provided for members use while in the center.
The North Tempe gymnasium is utilized by almost all of its
community partners. Its primary users include: Tempe Elementary
School District No. 3, Boys & Girls Clubs of The East Valley,
and Tempe Family YMCA.

The North Tempe Youth Center is operated by the Boys & Girls Clubs of The East Valley. The room includes; tables for study & activities, a 55" Smart TV, two 32" TV's for gaming, a pool table, a bumper table, a foosball table, two Lego tables, and a variety of board games and activities.
