Softball Bat Compression Testing
All bats used in City of Tempe Adult Softball leagues must be an ASA/USA approved bat and are required to pass a bat compression test conducted by a City of Tempe Adult Sports staff person or partnering city staff.
FAQ's
- Is my bat ASA-approved?
- Click HERE to see if your bat is on the approved list.
- How do I get my bat compression tested?
- Tests will be conducted at Kiwanis Park and Tempe Sports Complex on all game nights.
- Alternatively, tests can also be performed with adult sports leagues in the cities of Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa and Scottsdale.
- How will you know my bat has been tested?
- Bats that have been tested will be given an "All City Softball" sticker for the current year.
- This sticker is valid for sports leagues in Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa and Scottsdale in addition to Tempe.
- If your bat does not have an All-City sticker with the correct year, it will need to be tested.
- Bats that have been tested will be given an "All City Softball" sticker for the current year.
Registration
Teams register online: click here
Teams register in person: visit one of our recreation facilities during business hours, including Clark Park Community Center, Escalante Community Center, Kiwanis Recreation Center, North Tempe Multi-Gen Center, Pyle Adult Recreation Center, or Westside Multi-Gen Center. Please call the facility prior to arrival to ensure the facility is open and can accept registration.
Free agent/individual player: please fill out this form. Free agents are individual players who are interested in joining an already established team.
