Arts in the Parks goes online with live, digital festivals
The in-person events were cancelled but the shows will go on – online. All six Arts in the Parks events will now become digital festivals that can be enjoyed in real-time, citywide. The same arts activities hand-picked by the neighborhoods will come to life online as the artists perform live on You Tube. Mark your calendars for Wednesday nights for the next six weeks and support local artists online during this time of physical distancing. Pop-Up in the Park
50 people joined us at Celaya Park’s Pop-Up in the Park Gathering on September 12, 2019. We enjoyed music by AJ Odneal, shared ideas, and discussed resident’s interests in what they would like to see for their park’s event next April. Residents took part in a brainstorming activity by placing sticky notes on a map of Celaya Park. They indicated what visual art activities they would like to make, music they would like to hear, and how they would like to decorate the space. Some ideas mentioned were: community painting, create your own bird feeders, parent/child sing-along and dancing, mariachi band, and decorating the trees with lights and wind chimes.
