Arts Activities

Random acts of kindness....

Create a ripple of kindness in a temporary public art project by artist Ann Morton, commissioned by Tempe Public Art. In the months leading up to the event Ann has been working with Goodwin Park community members to write stories of kindness on cards that will be hung and installed at the Arts in the Parks event. During the event you can write your own story of kindness and add it to the installation, and read the stories of kindness shared by others. The stories are written on paper with wildflower seeds that you will be able to take home and plant.

Mandala Art

Create a temporary community mural of a mandala during the event with artist Kyllan Maney, and then paint the mural design on a flower pot that can be used to plant the wildflower seeds from the Random Acts of Kindness.... installation.

Memory Bank Project

Turn your memories into poetry, and your poetry into art with Tempe Vibrant City artist, Diane Silver, a visual artist who uses words and writing in her artwork. You can help write a collective poem about love, family and joy. Your words will then become part a painting. There will also be creative coloring and design activities for all ages.

Food Trucks

Pizza Arno, Hummus Xpress, and more!
