Camp Adventure is a fun break camp for youth and young adults ages 10–21 with intellectual and developmental disabilities, offered by the City of Tempe. Campers enjoy arts and crafts, games, sports and movement, music, and exciting community outings—all while making friends and creating memories!

Participants must be able to participate successfully in a 1:4 staff-to-participant environment and should have previously participated in the LEAP after-school program, Camp Adventure break camps, or Camp Challenge summer camp within the past three years. Space is very limited; if the program is full, participants are encouraged to join the waitlist to be considered should additional space become available.

Spring 2026 - Dates | Week One: March 9-12, Week Two: March 16-19

Meals | Breakfast and lunch will be provided if you choose.  Participants have the option to bring a non-perishable lunch also.
Payment Options DDD or Private Pay
DDD Hours: DTT hours must be approved by March 2, 2026
Private Pay: $150/week payment will need to be made by March 2, 2026
Registration/Approval Process
1. Registration will be completed online and then a registration packet will be sent. Registration will open on January 20, 2026. 
2. After online registration is complete, you will be sent a registration packet that will need to be completed and returned no later than February 20.

• If using DDD: provide a copy of participant's most recent PCSP (Person Centered Service Plan). This document should be updated and provided quarterly by your DDD Support Coordinator. A digital copy can be emailed to adaptiverec@tempe.gov.  AND please reach out to your support coordinator for at least 50 hours to be allocated to the City of Tempe no later than March 2, 2026
• If paying out of pocket, someone will contact you for payment by March 2, 2026.

Campers get to enjoy arts & crafts, games, music, and many other activities!  Camp participants must be able to participate successfully in a 1:4 staff-to-participant environment.

Summer 2026:
