1. Building Educator Capacity in the Science of Reading

• Continued LETRS training to strengthen teacher knowledge and practice.

2. Scaling Up Evidence-Based Literacy Solutions

• Develop videos for caregivers showing how to play simple literacy games with children.
• Expand Experience Corps and the My Brother’s Keeper Pre-Fluency tutoring program.
• Grow the Raising a Reader program to reach more Tempe families.

3. Engaging Families and Communities

• Share family newsletters with reading tips and the latest literacy data.
• Offer books and activities that celebrate diverse cultures and communities.
• Expand and fund the HUG Book Club to engage more families in joyful reading.
• Promote Language Justice by ensuring access to stories in the languages children hear and speak at home.
• Invite families as guest readers to share their love of reading with children.

4. Expanding Access to High-Quality Early Learning

• Provide PreK scholarships and funding to help families access quality programs.
• Educate families about the difference between high-quality early learning and daycare.
• Expand PreK opportunities for children with special needs.
