Nonprofit  organizations serving Tempe residents provide critical services that meet a wide range of needs, from shelter and food assistance to music therapy and afterschool programs for kids to pet care and park clean ups. Their work supports youth, families, seniors, veterans, crime victims, unsheltered individuals and others in need.

Organizations rely on volunteers and monetary donations to bolster their work. Consider giving your time and talent or making a contribution to support their work.

The Oct. 13 storm left lasting challenges for many Tempe residents. More than 1,000 homes and 80 businesses were damaged — some destroyed. At the same time, the recent federal government shutdown, job loss and impacts to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits have created new hardships for families already stretched thin.

There’s no special state or federal funding available right now to help Tempe recover. But Tempe has something stronger: a community that shows up for one another.

This is our moment to come together as neighbors, businesses, faith groups and local organizations to make sure everyone has what they need to get back on their feet. Learn how to make a difference right now for your neighbors in need.

Tempe Community Council

Tempe Community Council, the City of Tempe's nonprofit partner, works to connect those in need with those who care. Serving the community since 1972, TCC is committed to addressing immediate and long-term human service needs in Tempe and fosters collaboration between individuals and organizations to identify and plan for needed programs that serve youth, families, seniors, unsheltered people, those with disabilities and victims of domestic violence.

  • Volunteers are needed for TCC programs, including the Threadz Teen Clothes Closets, VITA Tax Site, Care Fair, Tempe Coalition focused on substance abuse, and the Agency Review nonprofit grant funding process.
  • Donations can also be made to the Together Tempe fund to support the work of nonprofits serving Tempe.
