As part of a council working group chaired by Tempe City Councilmember Joel Navarro, Tempe businesses will be offered a deep discount on permits to host live music. The one-time fee will be reduced to $200, down from $1,331, until March 2019.
By reducing the cost of the permit, it's hoped that more businesses will hire more musicians and offer more entertainment.
Businesses interested in the discounted live music permit should apply at Tempe Community Development, 31 E. Fifth St., garden level. Application
Applications may be filled out in advance online but they do need to be brought to the Community Development Department for approval.
