Think Extra Small Tempe

The Tempe Placemaking campaign continues...

Thinking extra small means engaging “tactical placemaking” which focuses on fine grain details.
By nature, placemaking is:
grassroots, bottoms-up, decentralized, agile, low-cost, low-tech, independent, organic, and often temporary or popup.

Ex: “Before I Die…” chalkboard, movable chairs in a park, mobile vendors, public art / murals, self-guided historic sites tour, quality of finishing treatments, site-specific landscape solutions, streetscape designs, open space  programming, and oh ya -- shade.
