Environmental Private Development

Generally, environmental inspections (344 – Grease Trap/Interceptor) occur at two points during the building process. This can vary from project to project depending on the size of the project, the type of pretreatment device being installed, or other factors. Listed below is some general guidance regarding when to call for your environmental inspections.

 When to call a 344 – Grease Trap/Interceptor Inspection:

1^st Inspection:

• Underground grease waste piping is installed and exposed and
• The pretreatment device (grease trap/interceptor) is installed and inlet/outlet piping is exposed

2^nd Inspection:

• All kitchen fixtures are installed
• Pretreatment device is installed, backfilled, and ready for use
• Right before calling in the building final inspection
