Work has started on Tempe’s Downtown Refresh Project, which will enhance the Mill Avenue Streetscape from University Drive to Rio Salado Parkway. It’s the first renovation of its kind on Mill Avenue in about 40 years.  

The project includes sidewalk and ADA improvements such as expanded pedestrian space, new sidewalk pavers and historic markers, infrastructure upgrades to electric and irrigation, new bus shelters and some new trees.

Construction will take place in multiple phases and access to all business will remain open.
