About the program

Tempe’s neighborhood grant program was created in 1994 to invest in community-initiated projects designed to enhance the quality of life in neighborhoods for all. The program was renamed the Maryanne Corder Neighborhood Grant Program by the City Council in November 2004 in recognition of the founder and director of the city's Neighborhood Services Program.

Enhance your community: apply for a grant

The grant application for the Fiscal Year 2027-2028 cycle will be available in Fall 2026. The deadline for Fiscal Year 2026-2027 funding has passed.

Tempe offers grants to Neighborhood Associations (NAs) and Homeowners Associations (HOAs) to fund projects for art, sustainable landscaping, park improvements, adaptive streets initiatives and more. Up to $20,000* is awarded to selected NAs and HOAs.

*A match of at least 25% of the total award is required for HOAs. NAs do not require a match. Associations may combine efforts and submit a joint application to be considered for additional funding.

Be sure to review eligibility guidelines, grant details, past project applications and more below. Reach out to neighborhoods@tempe.gov  for assistance with the grant process.
