On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, the City of Tempe held a Primary Election to nominate and/or elect candidates for three City Council seats. Candidate Arlene Chin received more votes than the required majority threshold and was declared re-elected to office, effective as of the May 19, 2026, General Election.
On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, the City of Tempe held a General Election for the remaining two City Council seats. Candidates Bobby Nichols and Brooke St. George received the highest number of votes cast and were declared elected to the office of City Councilmember.
On March 26, the City Council adopted Resolution No. R2026.30 declaring the canvass of the March 10 Primary Election results. On June 4, the City Council adopted Resolution No. R2026.57 declaring the canvass of the May 19 General Election results.
The terms of office for Councilmembers-elect Arlene Chin, Bobby Nichols, and Brooke St. George will commence at the July 1 Regular Council Meeting.
