Standing Committee Information

A Standing Political Committee is a political action committee (PAC) or political party that is active in more than one reporting jurisdiction in Arizona and registers with the Arizona Secretary of State.

Standing Committees:

  • File a Statement of Organization with the Secretary of State.
  • Submit a copy of that Statement to each jurisdiction where they are active (for notice purposes).
  • File all campaign finance reports only with the Secretary of State.
  • Are assigned an identification number by the Secretary of State.

The City Clerk does not receive campaign finance reports from Standing Committees and does not enforce their reporting requirements.

[See Arizona Revised Statutes (A.R.S.) §§ 16-901(48), 16-906(E), 16-934(E).]
