I remain deeply committed to public service, being accessible, listening to residents, solving problems, and delivering results that make life better for everyone in Tempe.
I’ve called Tempe home for more than 50 years. I attended Kyrene and Tempe Union public schools, earned my bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communication from Arizona State University, and my master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. Over the years, I’ve experienced firsthand and contributed to the strength of this community, where neighbors help neighbors in a city that provides a variety of opportunities to make a difference. Volunteering with many local organizations, including Tempe Sister Cities, the Arizona Asian Chamber of Commerce, Tempe Community Council, Tempe Leadership Class XXII, and the Downtown Tempe Authority, has been a joy and an honor. Currently, I serve as the Senior Director of Scholarship Development and Administration for the ASU Foundation, collaborating with teams across the university and throughout the community to support student success.
My professional positions and extensive engagement with community organizations and associations have only deepened my roots in this city. When I hear about a problem I think about the solution not just from an understanding of what the City can do but also in a way that considers how best to engage
all stakeholders as part of the solution. Anyone who has worked with me knows that I’m honest and direct. I am a leader who listens, a collaborator who seeks consensus, and someone who believes in the power of relationships. I’m eager to continue serving on the Tempe City Council where I get to do everything from making sure a pothole gets fixed to ensuring our City navigates this very challenging time effectively with residents feeling as few negative impacts as possible. I look forward to building on my experience, helping residents, creating opportunities for everyone, and finding practical solutions to both simple and complex issues.
