The following Boards and Commissions currently have openings.  Apply using the Board and Commission Application to be considered for appointment at an upcoming Council meeting.  Appointed members will begin service immediately following appointment.

Several Boards and Commissions are seeking qualified applicants:

• Aviation Commission – Advises on air transportation issues and airport operations affecting Tempe residents.
• Commission on Disability Concerns – Advises on issues affecting residents with disabilities and promotes accessibility, inclusion, and equal opportunity throughout the community.
• Family Justice Commission – Advances policies addressing domestic violence and supporting survivors.
• Human Relations Commission – Two Youth Member Seats Available: Youth applicants ages 14–18 are encouraged to apply for the City’s two new youth member positions for Tempe students. The Commission promotes mutual understanding and respect among all residents and advises the City Council on equity and inclusion issues.
• Industrial Development Authority – Encourages projects that support job creation and economic growth.
• Risk Management Trust Board – Provides guidance on City insurance and risk management programs.
• Technical Code Advisory Board of Appeals – Reviews technical and building code interpretations.
• Veterans Commission – Veteran Housing Advocacy and Assistance (Service Area Seat – Open): Represents the veteran housing advocacy and assistance service area and advises the City Council on supportive and affordable housing needs for veteran families.

Important Eligibility Note – City Code Term Limits
Under Tempe City Code Section 2-182(c), individuals may not serve more than two (2) total terms on the same board or commission, regardless of whether the terms are consecutive.  If you have already completed two full terms on a particular board or commission, you are not eligible to be reappointed to that same body.
