In partnership with the Army Corps of Engineers, the Tempe Community Development Department and Transportation Division continues the work of uniting and expanding the more than seven miles of paths along Rio Salado and Tempe Town Lake. This project links existing pathways on the north bank of Tempe Town Lake and the Indian Bend Wash directly to McClintock Drive. Additionally, improvements to the existing path will receive aesthetic upgrades where it reconnects with the south bank at the ASU Karsten Golf Course.
The project will install a paved multi-use path, which includes lighting, landscaping and fencing consistent with the city’s shared-use path standards, providing continuity for all users. These linkages provide important connections to established pathways to and from Scottsdale, Mesa, Tempe Marketplace, and other economic, housing and recreational centers.
