SRP will be conduct work adjacent to the Western Canal multi-use path between Rural Road and Price Road until later in March. As a result there may be an odor associated with the maintenance.

In 2015, the League of American Bicyclists re-designated Tempe a Gold-Level Bicycle-Friendly Community Award winner. With almost four percent of Tempe residents biking to work, Tempe has one of the highest percentages of bicycle commuters in the country. Tempe uses the best methods for integrating bicycling and bicycle infrastructure into all levels of city planning. The city’s urban design plans include accommodations for bicycling in order to integrate bicycling as part of the culture of Tempe and to assist in the enhancement of a balanced transportation system. Because of the support from the Tempe City Council, Arizona State University, the community and non-profit organizations like the Tempe Bicycle Action Group, Tempe is one of the leading bike communities in the country. The League of American Bicyclists examined traffic engineering facilities and policies and bicycling promotion efforts of the communities. The organization also considered cities’ enforcement of traffic laws on motorists and cyclists, efforts to educate both groups on traffic safety and processes to plan for and evaluate policies and facilities for bicycling.

All multi-use paths in Tempe are ADA accessible.
