Ken Jones was promoted to the position of Deputy City Manager – Chief Financial Officer for the City of Tempe in July 2014. Prior to his promotion, he worked for the City of Tempe as the Director of the Finance and Technology Department for four years, Internal Audit Director for 10 years and Cash Manager for almost six years. Prior to working for the City of Tempe, Ken worked in the Arizona Department of Administration, General Accounting Office for five years.
Ken was raised in Southern California and traveled to Tempe to attend Arizona State University in 1978. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Arizona State University and a Master’s degree in Management from Western International University.
Before permanently settling in Tempe, Ken lived in Litchfield Park, Arizona, for 10 years where he served as a Councilmember and Vice Mayor.
