TEMPE. Ariz. - Tempe Police arrested three teenagers this month, connected to a burglary where a stolen car was driven through the front of a local smoke shop, smashing the windows and causing significant damage and loss.

On November 2, 2025, just after 3 a.m., officers responded to the Up in Smoke Shop at 23 W. Baseline Road after reports of a break-in. Through their investigation, detectives learned a 16-year-old rammed a stolen red Kia into the store’s entrance. Surveillance video shows the teen getting out of the car, grabbing a cooler from inside the car, and filling it with stolen vape products before running out. He then jumped into a second stolen car—a black Kia—that was parked in the same lot and driven by another teen.

The store suffered an estimated $30,000 in losses, including stolen merchandise and extensive damage. Both the red and black Kias had been reported stolen out of Phoenix.

Through a detailed and thorough investigation, detectives identified three of the teenagers involved. Each has been arrested, and all charges will be forwarded to the juvenile court for review.

 Arrests include:

• 15-year-old arrested November 4 for Unlawful Use of Means of Transportation

• 14-year-old arrested November 14 for Two Counts of Theft of Means of Transportation

• 16-year-old arrested November 19 for Burglary in the Third Degree and Theft of Means of Transportation. This teen was identified as the individual who entered the store.
