TEMPE, ARIZ. – The Tempe Police Department arrested 51-year-old Joseph Hill Jr. after discovering the skeletal remains of a human inside a freezer in his backyard.
Detectives received a tip on 10/22/24 that there was a dead body in a freezer in the backyard of Hill’s home. Officers contacted Hill that day, but he refused to allow officers to look inside the freezer. Hill noted his father had passed away four years ago.
Detectives conducted extensive research and developed probable cause for a search warrant.
During the execution of the search warrant, detectives discovered the skeletal remains of a human body. At this time, the identity of the remains cannot be confirmed.
Hill was arrested on the following charges:
- Concealment of a Body, a Class 5 felony
- Failure to Report Death, a Class 2 misdemeanor
This case is still under investigation and additional charges may be pending.
