Rob Base and Coolio Coming to Tempe Center for the Arts March 21
Legends of Freestyle Coming to Tempe Center for the Arts
Tempe, AZ – Nineties hip-hop and freestyle legends Coolio and Rob Base are coming to Tempe Center for the Arts (TCA) for one night only – Saturday, March 21 at 7:30 pm.
Tickets are $20, $25, $30 and are available online at tempecenterforthearts.com, Tempe Center for the Arts box office, or by calling (480) 350-2822.
Both Coolio and Rob Base have heavily influenced the hip-hop and freestyle worlds – two genres which have shaped American culture over the past three decades. They are also known for helping pioneer the crossover success that rap music has had in the popular music mainstream.
Coolio, a Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum recording artist, has sold 17 million records worldwide. He initially took over the world rap scene through the “Gangsta’s Paradise” release, which won a Grammy Award and which was also featured on the “Dangerous Minds” soundtrack and movie. He successfully made the transition from performer to actor starring in several HBO films and series, a reality TV show on the Oxygen network, “Coolio’s Rules,” and the “ghetto funk” cooking web series, “Cooking with Coolio,” which logged over four million hits on the web and appearances on “Celebrity Cook Off” and “Celebrity Chopped.” Currently performing and touring worldwide as a musical artist, Coolio is also working on a new cookbook with his best friend and bandmate, hip-hop jazz saxophonist, Jarez. Based on the theme of insane deliciousness that anyone can recreate, the recipes are designed to be accessible with easy to assemble ingredients that everyone will recognize.
Rob Base, a multi-platinum recording artist whose hit, “It Takes Two,” with DJ E-Z Rock, has been featured in critically acclaimed movies such as “The Proposal,” “Love and Basketball,” several Marvel Films as well as countless commercials including Yoplait Yogurt, Burger King, NFL mobile and Target. Base has spent the past four years on the highly successful “I Love the 90’s” and “Hammer’s House Party” tours with Salt N’ Pepa, Vanilla Ice, and TLC and is currently performing on stages around the world.
Be here for this old school throw down featuring 90’s hip-hop and freestyle legends, Coolio and Rob Base.
