Do women in Tempe feel safer than women in Stockholm?

Post Date:03/13/2019

Talk about issues concerning safety with women in Stockholm through The Portal, a temporary installation on Mill Avenue that allows Tempeans to videochat with people from around the world.  The idea is to have a conversation with someone you might not otherwise ever get a chance to meet.

The City of Tempe and Downtown Tempe Authority are hosting a Portal opportunity at 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27 for women ages 18-34 to connect with other women of the same age in Stockholm, comparing experiences on what makes them feel safe and what doesn't.  We will provide breakfast for participants.

Only 20 people can be part of this moderated conversation due to space restrictions. To be part of this opportunity, connect with Wydale Holmes, 480 350-5312 or email her at wydale_holmes@tempe.gov.

While there is limited availability for this conversation, the Portal is here through March 31 so that everyone can enjoy it. Hours vary so check the Downtown Tempe Authority webpage for details.  The Portal is located at CenterPoint Plaza, 660 S. Mill Ave., Tempe
