New Tempe awards will celebrate arts and culture wavemakers in the city
Do you know an outstanding creative? Have you attended an event, been impressed by local advocacy, or seen a performance that moved you or made the community better? The Tempe Arts & Culture Awards will celebrate excellence in arts and culture by recognizing individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions in the city. Nominations for the new awards are open now and can include:
- Visual Arts
- Performing Arts
- Cultural Events
- Activities showcasing the history, heritage or culture of Tempe
- Work or volunteer leadership that has supported the arts and culture in Tempe.
Artists, educators, organizations and leaders whose work has had a significant impact on arts and/or culture within the City of Tempe are all eligible to be nominated. Anyone can nominate a person or organization for an award. The nomination period ends on March 10.

Award recipients will be announced by Mayor Mark Mitchell at the State of the Neighborhoods + Awards on April 13, 2019.
