Free Hydrate Tempe workshops at Tempe Public Library
Grow a garden full of native plants, learn how to harvest rain, and find out how your laundry water can be recycled for use in your yard. The Tempe Public Library is partnering with Watershed Management Group to hydrate Tempe. Take part in one or all the upcoming workshops and get the tools you need to keep your landscape hydrated while conserving water. Each presentation includes a mini-project to create an action plan for your home.
Wednesday, Jan. 9: Hydrate Your Plants
Learn to choose native plants that will shade your home and create an appealing landscape for your yard.
Wednesday, Jan. 16: Hydrate Your Food
Learn how to use rain tanks as an active form of rainwater harvesting to nourish your vegetable and herb gardens.
Wednesday, Jan. 23: Hydrate Your Soils
Learn how to assess your yard’s soil type and how to use household wastes to build soil health.
Wednesday, Jan. 30: Hydrate with Greywater
Lean how to use a laundry-to-landscape system to recycle greywater for use in your yard and to reduce your water usage.
